In order for medical facility to continuously deliver anesthesia gases properly, anesthesia machines and vaporizers must be tested regularly. Regular testing guarantees that gas concentrations being output to patiences are accurate across all settings. to guarantee that their output gas concentrations are accurate at all settings. - Verified calibration of anesthetic vaporizers.
- A report of actual outputs through a range of dial settings.
- Verifications on host anesthesia machines.

Purpose
To measure the calibration accuracy of anesthetic gas delivery equipment through a range of dial settings based on manufacturers suggested flow rate parameters.
Protocol
Calibrated vaporizers are verified on-site on their assigned machine for proper performance of output. A Riken Analyzer, the preferred system for verification of vaporizer output, is used for this procedure. Written documentation noting actual vaporizer output is completed and left with the hospital.
